MOCK TRIAL

I just signed up to compete in the upcoming Renna and Jeff Embry Mock Trial Competition. Unlike the moot court I did last year, this is voluntary. The other big difference is the difference between moot court and mock trial. Moot court involves an appeal and mock trial is, well, a trial. [More about mock trial from Wikipedia here.]

It ought to be fun and there is a cash prize (which is just as good as money).

I AM NOT INTERESTED IN CRIMINAL LAW

Just another reason why I think I'll stay away.

MPRE

Just registered for the Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination on March 7. Texas (and most other states) requires it for bar admission.

ON THIS SEMESTER

Thus far...

This really has been my busiest schedule yet. Apparently we are keeping with the "2L: work you to death" theme. Here I am behind my books -- yes nine of 'em.

$900 worth of books

I now have more invested in casebooks than some people do in cars. While these books may have an average cost of $100, the value in being ahead in the reading in each class makes up for the price.

Until next time: I'm back to the text.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Happy 2009!

I have a little over a week before the good times begin again. It will be a bit of a busy semester, but should not be too out of hand. Seventeen hours!
