EUROPE

I'm almost ready to go. So far I've bought plane tickets, reserved hotels and registered for classes. Next on the agenda: get train passes, find a flight from Berlin to Paris, and decide the best way to get from Paris to Innsbruck. I think Air Berlin is going to be the way to go from Berlin to Paris at 102 Eur a seat (about $160). The train ride for that leg takes about 10 hours as opposed to the 3 hour plane ride, well worth the $160.

JOURNAL APPLICATION

I've spent these past few weeks working on my application for the Law Journal. It's kinda' like fight club right now: can't talk about it. But, here are the basics of the deal. We're provided a packet that includes a collection of a few sources related to the given issue. The object is write an article that responds to the presented issue using the provided sources. I planned on having a full draft by today, but the reality is more of a loose draft that resembles an outline.

CAMCORDER FOR EUROPE

I've been doing a little shopping for a camcorder for the trip. I think I like this one the best so far. HD and it uses SDHC cards for storage. Since owning the EOS 20D I've become quite partial to Canon equipment.

EUROPE

I just emailed my travel agent last night with the details of the first part of our visit to Europe. The plan is to stay in Berlin, Paris, and Innsbruck before school starts. To get around after that I think I'm going to get an Eurail pass. Eurail passes (the ones I'm looking at) come in an unlimited pass, or what is called a select pass. The unlimited pass gives you all the rail you can handle for a month within about 20 countries. The select pass gets you up to 5 countries for 15 days within 2 months. There is also a regional pass which looks like it will get you between a couple countries from 4 to 10 days within 2 months. I'm thinking that a hybrid of Select and Regional passes will allow me to cover the most area for the least coin, and because some of the places I want to see aren't to be found in the 20 countries in the unlimited pass. It's not like I won't have school work to do, so I'm not going to canvass the place.

FIRST YEAR = OVER

I have now completed my first year of law school. The finals beard has been shaved. We're still waiting on grades, so I haven't decided how I feel about it yet. As far as the experience goes I can say that it was worth it no matter what.
